It's a long shot, but, I suppose worth a try. If the problem with your
Zoomer is not an actual failure of the sensor elements, then you may be
able to manually adjust the digitizer scaling.
The digitizer calibration is held, along with most of the other system
information, in the GEOS.INI. Specifically, the section:
[mouse]
calibration = {
F100AF002F03B700F30006032B030B03
}
I don't know how the digitizer encoding is calculated (or how to
manipulate the values to get that you need) -- but, you at least get
some access to the digitizer scaling.
The second question is how to get access to the GEOS.INI if you can't
access the hard icon bar. The easiest that I can think of is to get a
PCMCIA RAM card, (on another Zoomer or compatable desktop reader) put a
batch file PENRIGHT.BAT in the root directory of the card. Have the
batch file run A:\PCCOM with whatever parameters you need (usually /c:1
/b:19200). Latch the PCMCIA card into your Zoomer & reboot. Before
GEOS loads, the Zoomer's File Transfer mode will be engaged and give you
access to the internal RAM disk.
Good luck!
