That was my point. While the Zoomer is definatly missing a good word
processor, Notebook has been GREAT for me to keep notes. Until your
post, I never even new that there was a search function that would span
all pages in a file. This is WAY COOL! Combined with Graffiti, I can
take "heads-up" notes that are very accurate! I have saved a LOT of paper!
As for Word Processors, according to the Software Overview, it probably
wouldn't be too difficult for a GEOS programmer to create a tight, fairly
full-featured word processor for the Zoomer. I have heard of some people
copying GeoWrite and associated libraries to the Zoomer, but it is
probably fairly slow. Given that a stripped-down version would use the
same libraries, I'm not sure how the speed would compare, but it would
be cool to see!
As for the Text File Editor, I installed it and it is really nice. I
like the mono-spaced font and the ability to enlarge or reduce the font
for easier reading. My only complaint is that it will not allow
selective font sizing as in GeoWrite. It is all-or-nothing. That aside,
it was worth the 150k hit on my RAM card. I'll probably NEVER use the
AOL editor again! Oh, one other question about the editor (and all
text-based Zoomer apps): Can you do drag-and-drop editing like you can
on the desk top? Mouse-based interaction obviously gives you a second
mouse button to do the drag-and-dropping, but using a pen seems
different. Is such a feature available or am I stuck using the tool box
for all editing (which is not all that bad)?
