- The second is closer than the first.. Actually "State" files (saving
the exact status of a dormant application) are generated for each
appliication
opened and then moved to the background (as GEOS makes room for the
foreground application). These files allow the each application to remain
exactly as you left it. A small price to pay for something very few
operating systems can do..
