Hello,
After exstensive testing of batteries with my Zoomer and HP200LX
I can say without doubt that Lithiums are NOT more economical to run. The
cost of standard alkeline batteries being what they are, especially when
bought in bulk packs of 8 or 16, you can't compare the two. The only real
advantage of lithiums, that I can see, hasn't been mentioned. They weigh
less... (slightly, but still a consideration when talking about portable
units.)

There's another advantage to lithium batteries that hasn't been mentioned:
Since they last longer, you throw away fewer of them. That's getting to be
important. (...How many of us live on landfills?) *** 10% *** of the garbage
in landfills nowadays is batteries!!
I just got my zoomer, so I don't know how long various battery types will work
for my usage level. I do know, however, that the Zoomer works fine on
"Millenium" type rechargables, which CLAIM to be able to pack as much punch as
alkalines. I don't know if that works out to be true for the Zoomer, but it
does for my CD player.
