OK, I don't have the SDK, my CD-ROM drive is unable to read all the
files on any of my CDs, and I'm stuck in the UK until summer of `96.
I want to play with code in DOS mode. It's very boring with no user
input at _all_, so I'd like to be able to access the A,B, and arrow
buttons. I've been studying sdisk.exe, which came with my AST Gridpad,
and it does seem to read the A and B buttons quite early on in it's
execution.
sdisk.exe seems to do a lot of setup by loading some registers and
forcing an INT 16. Checking the few DOS books that I brought with me,
int 16 would appear to be `get keyboard input' (yes, seems like that
would be unused on the Zoomer !). Can anyone out there give me some
(rough ?) details on what the various int 16 options are, and maybe
even ideas about data structures that the OS might expect to find in
my local data segment when int 16 is called ?
On a related note, does the current release of the SDK support asm
language programming ? A friend gave me Borland Turbo C++ 2.0 after
he upgraded, saying it was the last version that could run on my
8086 Sharp PC-3000 (I'm in techno-tiny mode over here :-). Everything
I've read says the SDK won't work with that C++.
Feel free to e-mail me direct if you can help...
