As the manual explains (deep reading);
- A soft reset is accomplished when you open the back cover and press the reset button with a pen or pencil tip, and let the machine reset. This DOESn't disturb any of the data on the "B" drive (where all the updates are kept.
- A Hard Reset is accomplished by holding down the "A" and "B" buttons on the front of the Zoomer, while at the same time Pressing that same Reset Button.
-- This Cold/Hard reset will wipe out all memory on the "B" drive, accomplshing the same this as pulling all the batteries. This will get you back to a "NEW" state with the Zoomer.

Hope this helps.
