The AST is the same unit as the Casio/Tandy Zoomer. It can translate printing, not cursive, but I'd still recommend Palm's Graffiti software to any Zoomer owner. Graffiti is MUCH better than the Zoomer's built in recognition, in my opinion.

There is more software for the Newton, but Graffiti has turned the Zoomer into a much improved unit, and more Zoomer software is coming. Still, you need to tell us what you want a PDA for to help narrow your choices.
