Zoomer a Winner

I have very little faith in Radio Shack. They were a 3 billion dollar
company selling PCs when Apple was a couple of college dropouts working out
of a garage. Now, with the exception of Zoomer and Computer City (selling
tons of Macintoshes), Tandy is all but out of the Computer business while
Apple is an 8 billion dollar company.

The Newton has a few minor bugs in the operating system (I know, I have one),
but it is a very versitile little beast with an incredible vision behind it.
And with many of the largest hi-tech companies in world licensing it's
technology.

So far as development on the Newton. I have the Newton Toolkit. It is very
easy to set up application and share data among different apps due to the
fact that all apps basically share a common database with a set of basic
predefined datatypes. There is no need for what you would call a file system
in the traditional sense. For Applications that are appropriate for a PDA,
NewtonScript is near ideal. It has a simple Draw and script interface,
somewhat similar to HyperCard. To put it in perspective for you DOS heads,
the closest thing you have is probably VisualBasic. But, Newton Script is
truly Object oriented and very flexible in its data handling.

Again, I just don't think Radio Shack can pull it off!Subj: Zoomer will do
well...
