Of course, Pete, your logic is sound. What I meant regarding writing tons of
apps was in the broadest sense. I would certainly hope that Geoworks, Tandy,
and Casio have thought long and hard about what a Zoomer could and should be
able to do. Just don't underestimate the ficklness of the consumer. What I
was thinking of was more on the lines of just how easy is it to program for
this puppy? I am hoping that, eventually, writing a small, customized,
add-on program for the Zoomer will be as easy as changing oil in my car.
Since I don't know squat about programing, and I really do not think I am
going to be able to learn much in the near future, I was wondering if there
is the possibility of this being true in the next couple of years? Just
exactly what would I have to learn/know to program in the PC-Geos
environment? All the talk about object oriented programing has led me to
think it is as easy as drag and drop, but I know better. Come to think of
it, I'm probably in a better position by starting from scratch than someone
who has 20-years worth of a mainframe mentality :)
