I have used my on Pine 3. something to get my mail, and it worked ok. The things is that formatting characters show up all over the screen, so you just have to know where you are on the system at all times. I could read the mail fine, but navigating the folders and stuff was tricky. I know Pine pretty well, so it works when I am desperate. It's easier (if more expensive) to get my mail here, of course.
