I've got a new 2 mb SRAM card ($69 from Reboot Electronics) with mirrored
\GEOWORKS\DOCUMENT and \GEOWORKS\SYSTEM directories. The B:\ dirve seems to
read them okay (with underlines etc.)
In C:\GEOWORKS\SYSTEM I have:
Bitmap Library
Chart Library
Game Library
Graphic Object Library
Motif Specific UI
Palm HWR ROM Library
Parse Library
Spell Check Library
Spline Library
Spreadsheet Library
SSheet Meta Library
Stream Driver
Are any of these unnecessary for running GeoCalc and GeoWrite? Are any
required Libraries missing here?
In C:\GEOWORKS\WORLD I have:
Expert Mode
GeoCalc
GeoWrite
I moved everything I could off the B:\ drive onto my C:\ drive to free up
space in B:\ for running apps (I don't even know if this makes a difference.
Does it?) But this doesn't seem to help on a reproducible basis.
The message I get most of the time after "Activating GeoWrite One moment
please..." is:
Unable to start the application
"GeoCalc": There's too much
activity already in progress.
Error Code: UI-28 (I also get Error Code: FM-130 when I try to launch
GeoCalc or GeoWrite from the File Manager)
This happens even when I just have Launcher running alone. The same thing
happens with GeoWrite. Then later, for no reason obvious to me, GeoCalc and
GeoWrite will run fine, albeit understandably slowly.
Also, I don't seem to get any "Close" or "Exit" option on the pull down
menus. Is there any other way I can shut down applications to clear memory
(besides a soft reset)? With lots of apps running, it slows down a lot (who
wouldn't?).
I have been able to start GeoWrite twice and GeoCalc once, but it doesn't
seem to be stable for some reason. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Henry Bonner
