I hate those shiny versions too.
I have found that if you use transparancies that are made for "deskjet
printers"
it doesn't have that shiny glow to it. It also has a rougher surface (in
order to get the ink from the printers to stay on, I guess) which lets me
write on my zoomer without accidently zipping across the screen!
