Well, when I received my upgraded Zoomer from Electronic Innovations on
19JUL96, I put in a new set of alkaline batteries from Radio Shack.
For those of you who are curious to see how the upgrade affects battery life, I
can tell you that tonight while doing a file transfer to my pc for backups, I
started gettting the dreaded: "main batteries are low" message. So, the first
set of batteries lasted exactly two weeks for me.
I use my zoomer pretty intensively at work to track data for the network I run
and do nightly backups to my pcmcia card so my usage pattern may be higher than
usual. Also, these last two weeks I've been using it even more intensely
putting it through it's paces to get a better feel for it's performance. So
far, I love it!
If there is interest, I will post a message next time I have to change
batteries for those who are worried about the upgrade's drain on batteries. To
me, the fast performance is well worth the price!
