I finally got the SB-82 cable from casio for my z-7000 but cant seem to
make it work. Can one of you kind souls shed some light on these problems?
I suspect that I have misunderstood the logic behind the serial
communication.
1) I did not get communication software with the cable. I ordered the cable
using the form included with the z-7000. Should communication software have
been included?
2) I have downloaded zdos from www but get "no connection" even at 2400 Baud.
Have I got the wrong cable?
3) My printer does not react at all when printing. The printer is a Star LP 4
which should be compatible with the HP LaserJet IIP. After starting a print
job it never finishes and I keep getting the "cant turn off the pda while
using serial port" error until I reset the z-7000.
4) Even when plugging the cable to my modem I get problems. It dials up fine
to AOL I get a connection (both 2400 and 9600 works) but 10 seconds after
connecting I am disconnected with the error "try again later or call aol
support".
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Marc de Oliveira
