Making the screen of the OmniGo square made the screen rotation happen
much more quickly. If GEOS had to redraw the screen at different
dimensions it would have taken it longer to recalculate the geometry. It
also would have made UI design dreadfully difficult for developers (at
least for me).
It is impossible for the Zoomer screen to be rotated. It takes changes
from within the screen driver itself to make this happen, and the only
people who could do it would be at Geoworks. Unfortunately the Zoomer is
not high on the list of tasks the engineers are responsible for.
