Ive avidly read all the posts about it since day 1, and I think you may be surprised to find out that I bought one in some part because of the discussion/criticism.... good and bad.... the only thing I've found lacking mechanically so far, is having a manual contrast control ala zoomer.... I found myself searching for it unconciously...... as far as whether or not it does this or that, or if it matches up to the standard set by other PDA's on the market, I think all discussion is good for the soul, and can sometimes help in defining the product itself....I do have one comment to add to the discussion.... that is, before I bought it, and before I buy anything computer/software/business related, I first define my needs...... and the omnigo has many things going for it that filled those needs....picking three that come quickly to mind include the
1.exceptionally light weight
2.the size is just right for my pocket ( I guess I have larger pockets than most of ya)
3.the apps, they will prove very helpful to organizing my business contacts and provide a method of quick note taking.... and, perhaps the main reason I bought it, is that it is a geos based keyboard operated PDA.... Geos compatability is very important to me.
the lack of a keyboard on my zoomer has put a damper on my ability to use it in many situations, although I'm very happy with it for other things, such as quick access to AOL on the go... I'm sure my omnigo will get a sound thrashing because it does have the keyboard input.... and hopefully, it will include such necessities (IMHO) as AOL, and a file manager down the road...... just my $.03 worth, thanks for listening
