In some cases, the defect causes information to be lost when batteries are changed, Hewlett-Packard said.
It said the problem occurs in about 1,900 units currently in U.S. retail channels, and about 500 units already in U.S. customer hands may be affected. No organizers currently on dealer shelves have the problem.
Owners of OmniGo 100s with serial numbers lower than SG54402000 can call the company for a replacement unit.

I'll add that the problem is relatively obscure. It can only happen if you remove the batteries while the "Touch Screen to turn on" feature is enabled and your backup battery is relatively weak.
The worst that can happen is that you end up having to "cold boot" the unit, thereby losing the contents of the RAMdisk. The device will NOT break or become unusable.
So, if you have one of the early units, be sure to turn OFF the "Touch Screen to turn on" feature before you replace the batteries and you will have no problems at all.
