Threaded message boards do have a "cc by email" option, but I don't like threaded boards. Also, once you start responding via email, it pulls the discussion away from the boards. Then members are denied the information contained in the responses.
Also, whenever I respond to a question by mail, I wind up getting 10 more questions back. Trying to do Q & A one on one via mail is time consuming and defeats the purpose and benefit of a public forum. We are all here to learn from one another, and the forum message boards are the best way to share information.
