1) For those that have the OG120 the OEM hard icon bar is identical to the
OG100 with the exceptions that
the Calc bumped the database off and Quicken took the place where Calc is
on the 100.
2) When swapping the apps around remember that the Geos namelabel is
independent of the DOS filename.
(e.g. Setup is actually a reference to JPref.geo).
{this does have some potential for "blocking" ghost shadowing of files in
on other drives but that's another story..)
For myself I have found it to be more convenient to keep separate NET and
GEOS .ini files with the redirection for the NET file as Wayne described.
The other is cleaner, but I choose to put everything I can on my PC-card,
and therefore I can just leave the Geos.ini file static on my B: drive and
do all of my fiddling with my PC. Pretty nifty I can access everything
with drag n' drop with Win95, WFWG,
X-Windows filemgr's (Linux based) and GeoManager (for a brief time) with
Geopublish, or even result to Dos and Unix commands.
It is even PnP as a shareable network drive on my itty-bitty 10base2 loop.
Even on a total virgin restore I just have to run one batch to copy a
single file. If you have a 120 and are VERY tight on ram (if so you
probably shouldn't be fooling with this anyway, I guess). Be aware that
while all of the original Apps are merely referenced by small (280 bytes)
pointer files. The ROM based copy of PQ is 23Kb+.
If one rarely fools with the config, it probably is also a good time if you
want to make any adjustment to the default value of 2 decimal places in the
spreadsheet. I have always had mine set for 5 places from way back when I
first got my 100 and was recording 400 to 600g samples +/- .0001g (.00002
if no one opened the lab door ;) )
I have been meaning to write a small routine to run from the geos shell to
alter the value (still would have to reboot I believe).
Unfortunately I cannot think of anyway possible of mixing the number of
fixed digits within the same sheet with the exception
of blowing off the currency symbol and using that as a separate format.
