Dear Members,
David Ross <rossd@edusy.cpg.com.au> asked:
"I presume the problem is either the Omnigo or the
cable. Is there a way of testing to find out which or
could there be another problem? In a recent message
"Hi! & Various" the loop back test was discussed. I
have tried the serial diagnostic which fails. How can
I create a "loop back" cable?"
Yes, there is a way to "make a loop-back cable." I had
a similar question and called HP tech. supp. As I
remember, a technician had me put a paper clip linking
one of the holes in the serial cable to another.
Unfortunately I don't remember which two were linked.
If someone on the LIST knows the pin-out of the serial
cable, perhaps David could figure out which ones he
needs to link.
