The OGO uses a 186(!) processor, for version DOS 5+ you need a 386 at
least.
Any form of dos needs to be run by the bootstrap or BIOS. I don't think
you can access the OGO's BIOS and it is probably unchangeable.
If you could boot the new dos you would need to store it, you might be
able to delete the native DOS from RAM but that still leves little space
for programs and data. Also the native DOS is written for a system with
small memory capacity so the new DOS would need more "Working" memory.
Don't forget that unless you have a PCMCIA card you are storing and
using the 1 memory store.
Also WHY?
I think the best change to work on is to install WINCE on the old OGO.
I know, I know, it's selling out but at least we could get a good text
editor
