Pablo,

Corne Beerse is quite correct, the removal of the AA batteries alone is not
enough to wipe your memory. The backup (coin) battery must be drained as
well. The printing process is very expensive in terms of power. If the AAs
die during printing, the printer almost immediately drains the coin-sized
backup.

Instead of trying to reduce your power output during printing (removeing
devices, etc.) I recommend increasing the power to the Ogo.

There are plans for a AC/DC "battery replacer" for the Ogo. If you build one
with the 850 mA power supply, like I did, you have enough power to print at
high speed and continuously even without a powered S2P cable.

Since the Ogo is "tied" to the desk (printer) during the operation any way,
hooking up the power supply is not a bother.

P.S. I regularly remove my batteries to insert the power supply I built, I
have NEVER lost data due to removing the batteries. Inserting the "battery
replacer" backwards maybe :-( but never from just removing the (AA)
batteries
