I sent the following yesterday but it never showed up
so my apologies if it appears twice:
----------------------------------------
Hi,
I was looking at the specs for the OGO120 on HP's
web site and was surprised to find out that
it now officially supports Compact Flash.
It was interesting that only Compact Flash cards
(for which an adaptor is needed to plug into the
PC Card slot) were listed and Low Power ATA Flash
cards were listed. To avoid confusion
between Low Power and Ordinary Flash cards perhaps?

I presume the compact Flash cards on the 120 are supported
the same way as Flash cards are supported on the 100.

(i.e. the following line in the config.sys
device = a:\pcmcia\atadrvlp.exe /d:1 )

Could anyone with the Ogo120 kindly confirm this in
their config.sys?

For this interested, I checked SanDisk's website
for power ratings of the Compact Flash cards:

Sleep 200 mA (3.3V) 500 mA (5V)
Read 36-45 mA (3.3V) 36-75 mA (5V)
Write 36-60 mA (3.3V) 36-90 mA (5V)

Wow, the Sleep times have got to be typos! (.2mA & 0.5mA maybe?)

Couple more question:
Is the OGO's PCMCIA slot only 5V or is it also capable of
3.3V operation?

Are Compact Flash cards readily available, say, in the U.S.?

They are quite easy to get here in Japan and their prices
are about the same as equivalent sized ATA Flash cards.
If I remember correctly, the Adaptor required was under
the equivalent of U.S.$25 the last time I checked
(about 3 months ago).

Thanks

William
