The errors you are seeing are the result of an incomplete
installation of Win32s. The installation program for Win32s is
poorly written. If you have any programs (e.g., Microsoft
Office toolbar) running when installing Win32s, the installation will
probably not be complete. "At least one system component..." error
indicates at least one file from the Win32s installation did not get
written to the disk because its earlier version was open by another
program. The setup program does not complain when this happens.

To get a clean installation of win32s, do the following:

1. Edit your system.ini file and remove the line
"device=win32s.sys" from the [386enh] section.

2. Delete the win32s.sys file from the \windows\system directory.
Also delete the win32s.ini file from the \windows\system
directory.

3. Delete all files in the \windows\system\win32s directory.

4. Edit your win.ini file and comment out the lines that start with
"run=" and "load=". (comment them out by placing a semicolon ";" at
the start of the line). This prevents programs from starting when
windows starts.

5. Remove any programs from the "Startup" program group. The best
way to do this is to create another program group, and then drag the
items from the startup directory to the new program group. This way,
when you are done installing win32s, you can drag the items back to
the startup program group.

6. Shutdown and restart windows.

7. Run the Win32s setup program.

8. Shutdown and restart windows.

9. Restore the win.ini file to the original condition (i.e.,
uncomment the "run=" and "load=" lines.

10. Restore your startup program group.

11. Chant "Microsoft is good" four times.

12. Maybe win32s will now work.

Win32s installation is a nightmare.

Hope this works.
