When you removed the batteries, were you sure to also remove the Lithium =
battery and any SRAM cards? Just checking to make sure, since it seems =
almost impossible to actually hold the info in memory for 24 hours =
without any batteries, but if the backup battery next to the OGO screen =
is in, it is futile removing the main AA's...

Help!

In a moment of complete stupidity I installed ogtext.com on my og as a
driver in the config.sys file (i.e. 'driver=3Db:\ogtext.com'). I know
drivers usually gave a .drv extension but I have seen some with .com
extensions and I was sure this was a driver, not an executable.

Anyway, needless to say it's now not a happy camper. I've tried soft
reboot, paper clip reset, and no batteries for 24 hours but when =
rebooted
it shows the usual Omnigo splash screen, scrolls ASCI garbage and beeps
intermittently for about 2 seconds then does nothing. At this point it
will not respond to any key strokes apart from a SHIFT+ON+NEXT soft =
reboot
(when it repeats the same performance).

I had assumed that the edited config.sys and autoexec.bat (from which I
removed the geos command at the end) were stored in ram and would
therefore be restored to factory settings from ROM when reset or =
deprived
of power. This does not appear to be the case.

What is going on and can it be easily fixed?

I would be grateful of any help

Chris
