RenoComm tests...

To the Ogo drivers...

Thought I'd pass along some observations I got today testing
RenoComm (and Ogcomm)... RenoComm looks promising, as at least
one of our group observed a while back. I find that one canNOT
use capital letters, nor any of the shifted keys! Curious
omission even for a beta... There is no way (that I could find)
to ship any control characters - a theme that persists from
the earlier comm programs... Ogcomm works like gangbusters
with an AC adaptor hooked up (per another group member's
drawings)! Gone are just about all the hung screens, etc.
Ogcomm becomes a very practical comm program untila VT100
emulator w/ control keys, etc. shows up.

Just in passing, I'm testing today with an old outboard
modem (PPI 9600SA) on the HP serial cable with Radio Shack's
null modem DB9 - DB9, to Radio Shack's DB9 - DB25 male.
In fact, this lash up makes it possible to just take the Ogo
along on a trip, rather than my trusty Toshiba notebook!
Nice - much lighter... Many thanx to Ray Schuler for his
pretty neat Ogcomm! [Now, if it only had....]

larry up here... :=8]
