There doesn't seem to have been much traffic on this list in the last few days.
Anyway, I just got my 2MB SRAM card from Reboot and it seems to work fine.
I had some questions about SRAM cards. First, I was able to install my
external programs on the card as opposed to the main memory of the Ogo. But
what I'm wondering is whether data that gets created by these programs (like
Pocket Quicken for example) will get saved to the card by default or to main
memory. And if not can you configure this. Obviously the programs that
come with the Ogo, like the appointment book, etc., can't be transferred to
card, but can the data from these apps be? I saw that you can COPY it to
the card via the Transfer app, but does this mean that if I copy data from
the appointment book to the card, then delete the appointment book data from
the main memory, the Ogo will automatically look for it, and then start
saving it to the card instead of main memory?
Another question I had was on battery life. The card came with a battery
similar in appearence to the backup battery to the Ogo. Will this battery
need replacing any time soon? Does anyone know how long the average life of
these batteries are? What affects the battery life of the card as opposed
to the Ogo? Does weather the go is on and the card in use have anything to
do with how long with how long the battery lasts? I'm just afraid of a new
added expense of not only having to replace the two AA's for the ogo every
few weeks, but also a new battery for the sram card. And I guess just
having the card in the Ogo drains the Ogo's batteries as well. Anyone know
by how much? Do the AA batteries last only half as long when there's an
SRAM card in it, or do they last 75% as long as they would, or what?
Thanks!
