Seems certain you'd use up your batteries faster if you keep
closing apps. All that extra cpu effort involved in the closing of the
app and the clearing of the memory it used, followed by even more battery
drain during those seconds taken to reopen the app. It has been
calculated that the user who always closes all apps on a regular basis
will use an extra set of batteries every 5 years.
