Defective or just a fluke?

I just got my Omnigo a few days ago and have been very happy with it. But
today I noticed that I couldn't view notes by category in the notepad. I
fiddled around and found that I could view phone numbers by category, but
not notes, even though I had entered categories into the titles of the
notes. I did a hard reboot with a paperclip and it seemed to hang at the
initial Omnigo screen. I didn't have much info in it, so I pulled the
batteries out and put them back in. It came up right away, and I put my
name etc. back into it and went to the notepad app. I got a message saying
that the database could not be found, and a new one would be created. Same
thing happened with the jotter and finance apps. Now it works like a charm
except for one disturbing thing: I've got about 10 very short notes in it,
and that's all, and I've used up 167KB! When I first put the notes in
(before the "crash") they took up about 20KB or so. Something munched down
tons of my precious ram. I'm wondering if I should bag it and send it back
or if I should download some kind of file manager and look around in the ram
and see if there are some corrupted files that I can delete. Has anyone
seen this problem before?
