DOS Terminal Programs

Hello,

I've been trying to run a few small DOS-based terminal programs on my omnigo
using both Marcus' & Jan's display drivers. Booting straight into DOS using
either driver gives me 30 columns of text. I've tried executing SIMTERM and
a couple of other small terminal programs (which provide vt100 terminal
emulation). They load, but apparently once they access the comm port, the
display blanks. I know the program is still running because I can dial
blindly and the modem connects & negotiates etc.etc.
I've tried QFAX with the same results.

I've also installed GeoManager from Geopublish & created a DOS command shell
icon. This shell gives me a display (using OGTEXT) of 15 columns. SIMTERM
executes & keeps the display under this display mode, but strangely enough
it will not access the comm port (maybe because GEOS won't allow it).

I've tried using MODE.COM but the versions I have available (DOS 6.22 &
WIN95) complain about incorrect DOS version. Can someone mail me a copy of
MODE.COM from DOS 5 ?

Until a scrollable display driver like the one Eric Burgess suggested or
even one which supports a DOS "window" from GEOS (somewhat like how Windows
does it) is developed, we may be relegated to running small DOS based
terminal progams.

Of course there is GeoComm, but I haven't heard how well this works with the
OmniGo.
