I created an AC adaptor for my Omnigo. I realized that most of my battery use
was from the following:
Heavy Spreadsheet usage
Backing up files with Transfer
SRAM Card usage
Communications with a PC
Printing from the Ogo
It seems to work well because I use the batteries for portable out and about use
(phonebook, appointment, database, notepad, etc) and the AC adaptor when I'm
using the above power hungry situations for unlimited battery life.
The adaptor cost about $5 and the 120VAC -> 3VDC Adaptor cost $15. It took me
about 1 hour to make it with the proper tools. It fits into the battery
compartment with the only drawback being that I leave off the battery cover
because of the input wires (I could make a notch to accomodate them but I wasn't
ready to make a permanent change to the Omnigo). If anyone is interested, I
will post the design of the adaptor unit.
