?: Flash card without connectivity

Hi folks,

Here is a question for the experts in the crowd. I have a flash card which
seems to work just fine. I have no connectivity to a desk top.

What I seem to be able to do with the transfer utility is to make a backup
of the data associated with a given program. It gives this backup a name
which is the name of the program with the date appended. If I make a
second backup on the same date it overwrites the first backup. If I make a
backup on a different day, it seems to make a new backup.

What I would like to do is to make named backups. If I could do this, I
could, for example, then have a collection of notes named "novel" which I
could load on and off the card whenever I like.

Is this possible for me without downloading special software, or am I out
of luck?

(Of course, I could fiddle with the system date to effect the same result,
but that seems like an ugly kludge.)

Thanks for your help and attention.

tjh
