14.4 PCMCI used modems run about $15-25.

Subject: Pocket modem solution! ?

It seems real difficult to find a pocket modem and it seems they are
expensive if it can be found. Here's an idea. The new USRobotics
PalmPilot has an optional "pocket type" 14.4 modem that sells for ~
$130. It is very small and runs on 2 aaa batteries(or AC adaptor). The
only catch is that it has a specialized port that plugs into the pilot.
All we need is a cable solution that will attach the OmniGo to the Pilot
Modem.

Just a thought

PS. By the way the new Pilot has TCP/IP ability for Remote access e-mail
capability. This would be great for the OmniGo.
