<< Could someone tell me whether GEOS V3.0 code is the same as 2.0 code? >>
In large part, yes.
<< Is it just a matter of new libraries? >>
Primarily, yes. However, unless you intend to write software for the Nokia
9000 Communicator, it's not an issue that you need be concerned with yet.
If you *do* wish to create software for the Nokia 9000, then you should
contact Nokia directly about getting involved in their developer program. At
this time, Geoworks has no plans to release a generic 3.0 version of the
SDK--since there are no plans to release an "installable" version of Geos
3.0.
There will be a Nokia 9000 SDK, specific to that device, made available
through Nokia's developer program approximately concurrent with the release
of the device itself.
<< Will 2.0 applications run on a 3.0 unit unchanged? >>
That depends on the device. The Nokia 9000, for example, has no pen and no
pointing device, which might affect your application. The 9000 also may have
new libraries or not have libraries that are included on previous devices
like the OmniGo or the Zoomer.
