Ink/Text Alignment

There are cases where the ink and text on a sketch page do not line up when copied from the Zoomer (U.S. model) to PalmConnect and vice versa.

Example: On the Zoomer you've done a diagram in ink and put text labels on it using < Enter > and < Space > and typing. You copy this notebook to the PC using PalmConnect. When you open the Notebook page on PalmConnect, you'll notice that the text is now lower on the page with respect to the ink.

This phenomenon is due to the internationalization of the Zoomer: The text character height on the PDA Z-7000 International model is greater than on the U.S. model to accommodate European accent marks. Therefore, text written on the U.S. model will be more-widely spaced vertically when viewed on the European model.

PalmConnect follows the European spacing, so that pages with both ink and text backed up to PalmConnect from the Zoomer will appear to be misaligned. This also means that ink/text diagrams created in PalmConnect must be adjusted for alignment when copied onto the Zoomer.
