"This distribution makes an attempt to derive the subject from xinhua
news articles using a largely empiracle method of pattern matching for the
beginning of the subject and the beginning of the article. You may also
notice, that the TASS ARTICLES ARE NO LONGER SHOUTING. This takes into
account
one of the primary complaints from the user survey a while ago - UPPER CASE
HURTS THE EYES."
Thanks again, Richard, for your continued hard work! I noticed, by the way,
that you only do revisions to this software during the relatively cool months
in Phoenix :-).
To retrieve a copy of the distribution, send mail to listserv@grot.starconn.com
(not to xpress-list, please) and put the following commands in the body of your
message:
get xpress-list dist1094
quit
You'll receive a four-part uuencoded ASCII cpio archive. Put it all back
together as follows:
(1) save the messages to individual files, paying attention to the sequence of
parts as indicated near the beginning of the body of each message
(2) using a text editor, remove the leading and trailing lines of text, up to
and including the "cut here" lines
(3) concatenate the files in the proper sequence and save that to a new file
(4) uudecode the file
(5) unpack the resulting file with cpio -C
Have fun!
