X*Press is available by C-band Satellite to anyone with a dish, there is a
"special" decoder that hooks up to the Videocypher ][ I am told. It is
also available on the PrimeStar Ku Band DBS system, but only in areas where
standard cable is not available. This may include areas within Cable Franchise
boundries that the Franchisee has chosen not to wire, but I am not sure.
(Some cable companies choose not to wire the "Industrial" parts of a city
in an effort to save money.)
It would be really nice if they offered a dedicated Ku-band service, since
I don't know of a single cable system operator in the Los Angeles area
offering X*Press. Bummer...
