an opportunity for fame and, well..., heartfelt gratitude!

We now have a couple of versions of code which sort out the X*Change
datastream and convert it into netnews-style articles. What would
really be *great* is if one or more souls would take on the task of
creating a software package out of it all. What I see as the task is:

- Gather together various people's requirements, for architecture,
features, and portability. Feel free to push tasks back on the
requestors, especially for things like testing versions on various
platforms.

- Grab the existing code and make it your own. We can work out some
easy mechanism for making baselines available on my archive server.

- Accept bug reports (accompanied by fixes, hopefully), enhancement
requests, etc.

- Crank out a new version every so often.

Several people could work together on it, perhaps dividing up functions
like articles versus stock data, decoding versus formatting, netnews
versus other formats, code versus packaging and portability, etc.
I'd be happy to set up a seperate mailing list for developers and
testers if that would be helpful.

Any thoughts on this? Any volunteers?
