More battery banter

Greetings folks,

I was asked, forget by whom, if there was any difference between the
"good" and "bad" batteries. Both have the same part number "PC-17-86".
However the one that was new in the wrap but won't hold a charge has "103F"
on the label in the lower right corner. The working battery is marked
"103G" in the same place. Lot numbers?

Guess it is time to check the list archives to see if I can find the
information on the NEC battery exchange program. Perhaps they'll be able to
tell if the "103F" is from the first batch of bad NiMH units.

Also, does anyone have a list of what other software was available on
ROM cards for the UL?

Thanks,
Greg
