I am in the process of getting through to someone at NEC -- the people on the
battery hotline are *not* NEC employees, but a marketing company that was
hired to handle this -- who has enough weight to authorize reimbursement for
my insured shipment and either send me an insured pickup for my other battery
or reimburse me again.

I'll let you know how I fare. Wait 'til they find out about the Internet...
