I think you've completely missed the point. I'm very appreciative of
NEC's recall policies --- although I suspect they're mostly done to cover
their butt rather than to make the UL users happy [how would YOU want
to buy a computer that has a producing company known for making machines
that burst into flames!!! If NEC doesn't address it now and kill
off any user complaints, this could seriously screw them up from a PR
perspective in teh long-term]

I've been quite clear that I"m not coming up with ways of milking money
from them. I AM addressing them --- and mentioning it toNEC, as well ---
to make sure it DOESN'T happen and to make sure their policies DON'T
get abused.
