pointing devices for the UltraLite?

Has anyone tried using mice or trackballs on the UltraLite? In particular,
I'm interested in those little clip-on-the-side-of-the-keyboard trackballs
(like from Logitech or Microsoft) that are made for laptop/notebook use.
I'm interested in hearing about any problems you've had with the serial
interface, mouse drivers, applications, or (in the case of those clip-on
models) the mechanical aspect of hooking it all together.
