MetaCard 2.1 beta 3 is now available from
ftp://ftp.metacard.com/MetaCard/2.1B3. This is primarily a bug-fix
release over 2.1B2 on UNIX systems, but a few new features have been
added to the Windows 95 engine:

1) "ask file" and "answer file" now can open the standard Windows file
selector dialogs.

2) An "answer printer" command opens the standard Windows printer
selection dialog, and the MetaCard Page Setup dialog has been modified
to use this new feature.

3) Import snapshot now works on the Windows platforms.

We've had several requests to change the default keyboard bindings for
the Windows platform to the Windows standard behavior (e.g.,
Control-X, Control-C, and Control-V for cut, copy and paste).
Unfortunately, there are several places where this conflicts with the
Emacs bindings currently used (e.g., control-v for page down). We're
asking for your input before making this important decision. Should
we:

a) leave it the way it is until the next release
b) hard code Windows behavior on the Windows platform
c) make it possible to switch between the two with a single property
d) make it possible to rebind all keys individually

Needless to say, the delay in the 2.1 release date will increase as
you move from option a to option d.

What's your preference?
Regards,
Scott
