The first beta-test release of MetaCard 2.1 is now available via
anonymous FTP from ftp://ftp.metacard.com/MetaCard/2.1B1. MetaCard
for Windows 95/NT is now distributed as a single executable called
mcsetup.exe that you download and then run to install MetaCard. Only
the following other engines have been built for this release: SPARC,
SPARCSVR4, HP9K700, RS6000, IRIS, and Linux. Let us know if you want
to test this release on one of the other platforms.

The new tabbed-dialog development environment is complete, and
information on the properties you can set with it is now included in
the Dialog Box Help stack. The MetaTalk Reference has also been
updated to include information on all the new features (the C & T and
tutorial stacks have not been updated yet). If you haven't taken any
of the earlier test releases of 2.1 for a spin, this is the version to
get.

Be sure to read the file README.2.1B1 for details on this release
before using it. As always, prompt reports of problems and
suggestions on how to improve MetaCard are greatly appreciated.
