No.

MetaCard contains no viral or AI technology. As far as I know, it
won't install itself on your customer's machines.

The purpose of the gamma-test is so that people who found bugs in 1.4
can check to make sure that they have been fixed (and that no new
problems have been introduced) before we encourage users at large to
start using this version. The difference between this type of release
and a beta is that, unlike a beta test, we don't plan to redo this
release unless serious problems are found with it.

Since you were one of the people who reported bugs, I would encourage
you to get this gamma-test release to ensure that the problems you had
have been fixed. If you wait until the final release, it may be weeks
or months before anything you find at that point will be fixed.
