Yes, I was horrified. What upset me was not the time bomb - although I
thought at first it was my 1.3 version which had bombed and that had me
REALLY worried - but the fact THAT NO-ONE TOLD US IT WAS THERE. I have
distributed applications built on 1.4Bx throughout the department and we
use them daily. I don't use 1.3 because we run Solaris and later versions
are much more stable. To have them suddenly stop without warning is
appalling.
When I worked out that it was the beta 1.4 which had bombed, I copied over
the latest version and all was well, but it left me very nervous: what other
time bombs are in this code?
