When you clone a field in HC 2.2 (option-drag), it doesn't copy the
text. When you do cut/copy/paste it doesn't either *unless* you hold
down the shift key when you pick paste from the menu (yuck!). Even
then, it won't clone the text if you cut and paste a field between a
card and a background.
What do *you* think MetaCard should do?
1) What it does now.
2) What it did in 1.2.
3) Always copy the text when you clone or cut/copy/paste a field.
4) Copy text for cut/copy/paste but not for clone, or vice versa.
5) Only copy text when pasting a field on a card or stack that doesn't
have the original (possibly confusing, but probably the most useful).
3. Alway copy the text.
(If I have to put in new text, all I have to do is select the text and
type; which I would have to do if it was empty. If I have to erase
the text, its put empty there or select and and delete. But, if the
text isn't there and the field is locked, it is a lot of steps to move
the text from the old to the new.
What about fields in a background? Should cloning them clone the text
just for the current card, or for all cards that have that
background?
Cloning should copy ALL attributes. If the text is "sharedText" it
should be for all cards, else just for the current card.
How about buttons? Does it matter if the hilite is cloned?
