I will try.

The main objective of the MetaCard application I have done was
to make a visual information system to be used by both our users
(research scientists, sectretaries etc) and our maintenance staff.
The system should present information of all our computer equipments
and software licences, and where they are located.
Our organisation (SINTEF DELAB) has about 200 employees spread around
four buildings.
The information system is organised as a main stack containing several
substacks. For instance there is a substack showing our buildings and
offices/laboratories, one substack for our workstations/PCs, one for
programs/software systems, one for vendors and contracts etc. There
are extensive hyperlinks between these. There are also some query forms
to be used for doing queries.

One interesting observation: The card window of the building/office
substack is quite big. In my first approach I used an image to show
the building structure. This led to unacceptable performance and
sluggish responsiveness of the stack. When I removed the image and
instead simulated the building structures by fields, the stack behaved
ok.
